Aizawl, July 29 -- The Champhai district administration, which hosts the largest number of Myanmar refugees in the state, has announced plans to begin the biometric enrolment process on Thursday.

This decision was confirmed at a meeting chaired by Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Aaquib on Tuesday.

Champhai is home to 13,586 refugees, the highest among Mizoram's 11 districts, and will initiate the biometric data collection process in the Vengthlang, Kanan Veng, and Dinthar Veng localities of Champhai town. The enrolment will use the 'Foreigners Identification Portal & Biometric Enrolment' (FIP&BE) system.
