Shimla, Nov. 11 -- The District and Sessions Court in Chamba on Tuesday granted interim anticipatory bail to BJP MLA Hansraj from Churah in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. The court directed the legislator to fully cooperate with the police investigation. The matter would now be heard on November 20.
Hansraj has been accused of sexually assaulting a minor. The case, which dates back to 2024, resurfaced after the victim lodged a fresh complaint on November 7, alleging physical abuse. An earlier FIR was registered on August 16, 2024, at the Chamba Women's Police Station over charges of obscene chats, demands for nude photographs, and threats.
