Shimla/Chamba, Nov. 27 -- BJP MLA Hans Raj, representing the Churah constituency in Chamba district, received a major relief on Thursday after the Special Judge, Chamba, confirmed his regular bail in a case registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
The case has taken many turns since it was first filed in August 2024, with the victim withdrawing her complaint and then again reinstating and alleging threats to her family.
The court had earlier granted Hans Raj, an interim anticipatory bail until November 27, with the matter listed for detailed hearing today. Following arguments from both sides, the court confirmed his bail, effectively protecting him from arrest as the investigation continues.
