Dubai, March 2 -- Mystery spinner Varun Chakravarthy starred with a match-winning five-wicket haul as India secured a 44-run victory over New Zealand in their final Group A clash of the ICC Champions Trophy here on Sunday.
The win propelled India to the top of Group A, setting up a semifinal encounter against Australia here on March 4.
Defending a modest total of 249 for 9, India's spinners turned the game around, with Chakravarthy returning figures of 5 for 42, while Kuldeep Yadav (2/56) and Axar Patel (1/32) provided key breakthroughs.
New Zealand, despite a fighting 81 from Kane Williamson, were bowled out for 205 in 45.3 overs.
