Aizawl, June 12 -- Three major Chakma civil society organisations have submitted a joint memorandum to Mizoram Governor Lt. Gen. (Retd.) VK Singh, urging imposition of Governor's Rule in the Chakma Autonomous District Council (CADC) for six months, citing a worsening political impasse and financial crisis.
The Young Chakma Association (YCA), Mizoram Chakma Students' Union (MCSU), and Chakma Mahila Samiti said in their memorandum on Thursday that the CADC has plunged into a "deep crisis", with yet another change in government imminent.
