Jammu, July 23 -- Following reports that a large portion of the bridge foundation was washed away on the Jammu-Delhi Railway line in Kangra, the Railway authorities have assured that the bridge is safe for train operations.

Himanshu Shekhar Upadhyay, Chief Public Relations Officer, informed that the Chakki Railway Bridge between Pathankot Cantt and Kandrori stations on the Pathankot-Jalandhar Cantt route experienced flash floods, with the water level rising from July 20 to July 21.

"The Northern Railway has already imposed a speed caution of 20 Kmph on the bridge since August 1, 2024 and there were no chances of any unfortunate incident vis-a-vis rail operations on the bridge and is safe for train operations," he said.
