CESHS completes Northeast India's first geothermal production well in Dirang
Itanagar, May 5 -- In a historic milestone for sustainable energy in Northeast India, the Centre for Earth Sciences and Himalayan Studies (CESHS), under the Department of Science & Technology, Government of Arunachal Pradesh, has successfully drilled the region's first geothermal production well in Dirang, West Kameng district.
The achievement follows two years of intensive geochemical and structural surveys of hot springs across western Arunachal Pradesh and marks a major milestone in the region's quest for sustainable energy and represents a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Northeast.
