Kolkata, Feb. 10 -- The office of the Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), West Bengal, has sought additional details on the proposed deployment of 8,505 Group-B officers as micro-observers for the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of the state's electoral rolls, delaying the process of deployment that was scheduled to begin on Tuesday.

According to sources, the CEO's office has asked Chief Secretary Nandini Chakraborty to furnish specific information on each officer, including their place of residence, place of posting and whether they have obtained vigilance clearance. The details have been sought within 24 hours.
