Hyderabad, Jan. 8 -- Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Thursday alleged that the central government was attempting to weaken the globally recognised Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA), warning that such moves posed a serious threat to democracy and the rights of the poor.
Speaking at a high-level meeting of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee held at Gandhi Bhavan under the chairmanship of TPCC president and MLC Mahesh Kumar Goud, Revanth Reddy said the BJP government was acting arbitrarily and vindictively against the poor.
