Dharamshala, Oct. 5 -- Himachal Pradesh Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania on Saturday accused the Central Government of adopting a step-motherly attitude towards the hill state, saying that Himachal's unique geographical and financial challenges were being ignored in policy decisions.
KS Pathania told UNI that the Centre has fixed a uniform net borrowing limit of three per cent for all states, "but it seems unaware that a small and hilly state like Himachal Pradesh has needs very different from those of the plains."Calling this "one-size-fits-all" policy unjust, he pointed out that the state's Revenue Deficit Grant (RDG) has fallen sharply from Rs 10,249 crore in 2021-22 to Rs 3,257 crore, reflecting the state's fiscal discipline.
