Srinagar, Sept. 27 -- The union government has sanctioned the construction of 5,061 houses damaged in recent natural calamities across rural areas of Jammu and Kashmir, Lieutenant Governor of J&K Manoj Sinha said today.
In a post on X, the LG office said that he was grateful to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and union Minister of Rural Development Shivraj Singh Chouhan for sanctioning the construction of 5,061 houses.
"This approval under a special project of PMAY-G (Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin) will bring back safety and stability in the lives of thousands of households. A new home will enable the families to regain economic stability by significantly improving the families' well-being," he added.
