New Delhi, Oct. 9 -- The government has disbursed Rs 680.71 crore as the first instalment of grants under the Fifteenth Finance Commission to Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRIs) in West Bengal for the fiscal 2025-26.
According to a release issued by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj, the funds will benefit 3,224 gram panchayats, 335 block panchayats and 21 zilla parishads across the state.
The allocation forms part of the broader XV-FC recommendations aimed at enhancing the institutional capacity of rural local bodies and supporting service delivery at the grassroots level, said the statement.
