Aizawl, Oct. 5 -- The central government has disbursed the second instalment of untied grants amounting to Rs. 14.40 crore to support rural local bodies (RLBs) in Mizoram, as part of the Fifteenth Finance Commission's allocation for the current fiscal year.
This was confirmed in a statement issued by the Ministry of Panchayati Raj.
Along with the second instalment, the government also released a previously withheld sum of Rs. 12.09 lakh from the first instalment for the financial year 2023-24. This funding will benefit all 808 eligible village councils across the state. Earlier, in August 2025, Mizoram had received Rs. 14.27 crore for 827 eligible village councils under the same programme.
