Aizawl, Dec. 4 -- The union Government has released the first instalment of Rs 15.20 crorefor Mizoram's Rural Local Bodies (RLBs) under the 15th Finance Commission for the 2025-26 financial year, covering grants that relate to 2024-25.
All eligible Village Councils, including those within the three Autonomous District Council areas, are included in the allocation.
The grants, recommended by the Ministries of Panchayati Raj and Jal Shakti (Department of Drinking Water and Sanitation), are released in two instalments each year through the Ministryof Finance.
Officials said the funds are meant to strengthen grassroots governance and improve essential services in rural areas.
