New Delhi, Jan. 27 -- Refuting the media reports of Nipah Virus case load in the Eastern State of West Bengal, the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare on Tuesday said that since December last year, only two cases of Nipah Virus have been confirmed by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in West Bengal.

The officials confirmed that, following the reports of two confirmed cases, a total of 196 people who came in contact with the infected individuals were identified, traced, monitored, and tested. "All traced contacts have been found asymptomatic and have tested negative for Nipah Virus Disease," said the Ministry in a press statement.
