Aizawl, Feb. 20 -- The central government has unveiled plans to upgrade Mizoram's Lengpui airport under the Krishi Udan scheme, aiming to boost the transportation of agricultural and horticultural produce by air.
Union Minister of State for Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) and Labour & Employment Sushri Shobha Karandlaje announced the initiative on Thursday, stating that the project is set for implementation within the year.
Speaking at the BJP office here, Karandlaje underscored the Centre's focus on enhancing infrastructure in the Northeast, particularly to support farmers and agribusinesses. She noted that Mizoram, known for its organic produce, could benefit greatly from better connectivity to national and global markets.
