Bengaluru, June 28 -- The Union Finance Ministry has given in-principle approval for the construction of a 300-bed polytrauma centre under NIMHANS near Kempegowda International Airport (KIA) at a cost of Rs 498 crore, Bengaluru South MP Tejasvi Surya announced today. Welcoming the decision, Surya said the facility would be a significant step in providing critical emergency care to accident victims in and around Bengaluru, especially in areas lacking trauma care infrastructure. "This polytrauma centre will save countless lives by delivering emergency treatment during the crucial golden hour.
