Shimla, Dec. 10 -- The union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has introduced a new nationwide initiative titled Rah-Veer, aimed at encouraging citizens to act promptly during road accidents and help save lives during the critical "golden hour."The scheme seeks to recognise and reward Good Samaritans who voluntarily step forward to assist accident victims by providing emergency aid and ensuring their swift transfer to medical facilities.

Under the programme, every Rah-Veer will be entitled to an incentive of Rs 25,000 per incident, along with a Certificate of Appreciation from the Government of India.
