Bengaluru, July 24 -- The Karnataka High Court today directed the Union Government to file its response within two weeks to a writ petition challenging the proposed deportation of two minor daughters of a Russian woman, who was earlier found living with them inside a cave in Uttara Kannada district.
Justice S Sunil Dutt Yadav passed the direction in a plea filed by petitioner Dror Shlomo Goldstein, who has sought to restrain the authorities from carrying out any "sudden deportation" of his minor daughters, and to release them from alleged illegal detention, handing over their custody to him.
