Vidisha (MP), Aug. 19 -- A central team of agricultural scientists has taken stock of damaged kharif crops in this district's Chheerkheda and Semra.
The crops suffered losses owing to use of chemicals following rainfall.
Union Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Minister and local parliamentarian Shivraj Singh Chouhan took cognisance of complaints and recently paid a visit here.
He assured the peasants that strict action would be initiated against companies manufacturing spurious medicine. The seven-member team came yesterday.
Legislator Mukesh Tandon urged the scientists to reach every affected ryot's farm and mention the factual position in their report.
