Srinagar, Sept. 7 -- An Inter-Ministerial central team (IMCT), which arrived in Kashmir today, began assessing the damage caused by the recent spell of heavy rainfall that triggered floods in parts of the Valley, officials said.

They said that the team visited the Central Kashmir's Budgam district, where they were briefed by the district administration regarding the flood situation.

A Budgam administration spokesperson said the central team held a review meeting with Deputy Commissioner Budgam Bilal Mohi-ud-Din Bhat and senior officers.

The team also conducted field visits to Shalina, Panzan Bridge, Bus Adda Chadoora and other affected sites of the district.
