Dharamshala, Sept. 26 -- Deputy Chief Whip Kewal Singh Pathania today said that, though the Centre announced a relief package of Rs. 1,500 crore for Himachal Pradesh, the state government has not received a single rupee so far.
He said central teams assessed monsoon damages, estimated at over Rs. 5,000 crore, but no assistance has reached the state.
Addressing a press conference at Dhauladhar Hotel, Pathania said 427 lives were lost between June 20 and September 19, while roads, agriculture, and horticulture land suffered severe losses.
He accused BJP leaders of misleading the public by claiming that crores had been released by the Centre, adding that in 2023 too, the state managed relief with Rs. 500 crore from its own resources.
