New Delhi, Aug. 21 -- The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today said that the Central Government's proposed constitutional amendment that mandates the removal of a Chief Minister or minister who spends 30 days in jail, calling the draft "incomplete" and warning of potential misuse.
Senior AAP leader Manish Sisodia stated that while the intent to hold corrupt leaders accountable is welcome, the law, in its current form, is "half-baked." He argued that without provisions to penalize those who file false cases, the legislation risks becoming a tool for political vendetta, similar to alleged misuse of agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
