Kolkata, April 21 -- In the second phase of election in West Bengal on April 29 where 142 assembly constituencies will be in the fray, the Election Commission has decided to deploy 2,321 companies of Central Armed Police Forces (CAPF).
According to booth-level security calculations, there will be an average presence of around three central force personnel per polling booth across districts, making it one of the highest deployments of central forces during elections in recent times.
When broken down against booth numbers, the data reveals a near-uniform distribution pattern, with slight variations depending on terrain, sensitivity and past electoral history.
