Thane, Jan. 9 -- Four people were seriously injured and at least 11 vehicles damaged after a cement-loaded truck lost control and caused a major accident on Ghodbunder Road at Gaimukh Ghat in Thane district on Friday morning, triggering massive traffic disruption on one of the region's busiest arterial routes. This stretch of the road is part of the National Highway 48.
According to officials, the container truck, carrying around 35 to 40 tonnes of cement, was descending the Gaimukh Ghat towards Thane city when the driver reportedly lost control of the steering.
