Hyderabad, Dec. 20 -- Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Saturday visited prominent historical and cultural landmarks in Hyderabad along with his family members.

The CEC, who arrived in the city from Srisailam in the afternoon, was accorded a ceremonial welcome at Golconda Fort, where officials of the Archaeological Survey of India briefed him on the fort's historical and architectural significance.

Later, he visited Hussain Sagar and paid a visit to the iconic Buddha Statue of Hyderabad located in the middle of the lake.
