Kolkata, Sept. 20 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is set to file its seventh status report on November 14 before the Sealdah trial court, detailing the progress of its probe into the brutal rape and murder of a junior doctor of state-run R.G. Kar Medical College and Hospital in August last year.

According to sources, the report is expected to shed light on the "suspicious" role of certain Kolkata Police officers during the initial stages of the investigation.

The victim's parents and their legal counsels have repeatedly raised questions about the conduct of these officials, alleging lapses and possible attempts to suppress key facts.
