New Delhi, Jan. 12 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) will question Tamil film star and politician Vijay in connection with the Karur stampede case on Monday. The actor, who leads the Tamil Nadu party TVK (Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam), is expected to reach CBI headquarters by around 11:30 AM, for questioning.

The stampede occurred during a TVK election rally on September 27, killing 41 people and injuring hundreds. The stampede was dubbed as the one of the worst crowd disasters in the state's political history.

Tamil Nadu Police claimed that Vijay's delayed arrival at the event was the cause of the stampede, claiming that the prolonged delay led to an uncontrollably large crowd. Inadequate arrangements such as the lack of enough fo...
