Chennai, Oct. 17 -- A Special Team from CBI today arrived in Karur to probe the stampede which hadclaimed 41 lives during TVK Founder and actor Vijay's political rally on September 27.
The CBI probe was ordered by the Supreme Court while passing interim orders on a plea filed by the TVKagainst the SIT probe ordered by the Madras High Court.
In line with the Apex Court order, a CBI team which included a ASP and DSP arrived in Karur.
After getting the case documents from the SIT headed by IG Asra Garg, the CBI would commence itsformal investigation into the tragedy which had shook the entire nation.
