New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today announced the recovery of assets worth several crores, including Rs 2.62 crore in cash, from a senior NHIDCL official arrested in a bribery case.

The accused, Executive Director Maisnam Riten Kumar Singh, was apprehended on Wednesday along with a private company representative for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh.

Subsequent searches at premises in Guwahati, Ghaziabad, and Imphal led to the discovery of documents pertaining to a vast property portfolio. The assets include investments in 20 apartments, multiple residential plots, a premium office space in Delhi-NCR, and properties in Bangalore and Guwahati.
