Shillong, Oct. 8 -- Three Postal department officials in Meghalaya's East Garo Hills district were booked by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a bribery case, an official said today.

The three Postal Department officials include an assistant branch postmaster from Williamnagar, a sub-division inspector from Williamnagar, and a postman from Rongjeng sub-post office, for allegedly demanding a Rs 30,000 bribe to release a withheld salary.

A case was registered on October 4 based on a complaint filed by a Gram Dak Sevak, who serves as the block post master at Rongjeng sub-office.
