Azamgarh, Sept. 26 -- In a crackdown on corruption, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) caught a postal overseer red-handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 at the Muhammadabad Gohna sub-post office in Azamgarh district, officials confirmed on Friday.
The arrest has sent shockwaves through the postal department in the region.
The accused, Tribhuwan Yadav, a resident of Khurhat village in Ranipur, was taken into custody after he allegedly demanded the bribe for facilitating the leave approval and relieving process of a Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) through the sub-divisional inspector (SDI) of Azamgarh.
