New Delhi, Dec. 26 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today moved SLP (Special Leave Petition) before the Supreme Court challenging Delhi High Court's bail to convicted Unnao rape convict and former BJP MLA Kuldeep Singh Sengar.
Special Leave Petition was filed today against the HC order suspending his sentence.
It may be recalled that K S Senger was convicted for life imprisonment with a fine of Rs 25 lakh in Dec 2019.
He filed an appeal against the conviction before the Delhi HC in Janyuar 2020 and a petition for suspension of sentence in March 2022 before the Delhi HC.
This petition was vehemently opposed by CBI and the victim through their cousels.
