Shimla, Sept. 28 -- After receiving protection from coercive action from the Supreme Court until November 11, 2025, yesterday, Deshraj, Chief Engineer of Himachal Pradesh Power Corporation (HPPCL), was questioned at length by the CBI in connection with the death of Chief Engineer Vimal Negi.

Deshraj arrived at the CBI camp office in Shimla at 10:45 am on the agency's summons.

According to sources, the CBI questioned Deshraj for approximately three and a quarter hours. He was asked about HPPCL work culture, the Pekhuwala project, allegations made by Vimal Negi's family, and the circumstances surrounding Negi's suicide. Deshraj had previously served as a director at HPPCL.
