Kolkata, Oct. 3 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today submitted its final chargesheet in the primary teachers' recruitment scam case at a city court here.
The chargesheet names former West Bengal Board of Primary Education president Manik Bhattacharya, Bibhas Adhikari, and former board secretary Ratna Bagchi among the accused.
According to the CBI's investigation, at least 350 candidates were illegally recruited through backdoor channels during the primary recruitment process.
Investigators suspect that Bibhas Adhikari acted as an agent in the recruitment racket, while Ratna Bagchi, who was then serving as secretary of the board under Manik's presidency, was also involved in the conspiracy.
