New Delhi, Dec. 26 -- : A Special CBI Court in Indore on Friday sentenced a former postal assistant to seven years of rigorous imprisonment for a fraud amounting to Rs 13.41 lakh.
The court also imposed a fine of Rs 45,000 on the convicted individual, Rashid Khan. At the time of the offence, Khan was posted at the Mahidpur/Tarana Post Office and occasionally served as the officiating Sub-Postmaster at the Mahidpur Sub Post Office.
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) registered the case on June 23, 2021, following a written complaint from the Senior Superintendent of Post Office, Malwa Division, Ujjain.
