New Delhi, Sept. 4 -- A Special CBI Court in Jabalpur has sentenced Yogesh Arora, former assistant engineer of LIC, to four years of rigorous imprisonment in a bribery case. The court also imposed a fine of Rs 10,000 on him.
The CBI had registered the case in 2011 following allegations that Arora demanded a bribe of Rs 20,000 from a contractor. The bribe was sought as a reward for clearing a bill of Rs 93,000 related to electrical maintenance work in LIC offices, and for processing pending bills worth Rs 35,000-Rs 40,000 for other small maintenance and supply works.
