New Delhi, April 2 -- A Special CBI Court in Bhopal has awarded seven years of rigorous imprisonment to a former Senior Branch Manager of Bank of India (BOI) and his associate in connection with a bank fraud case.

The court, while awarding the jail term, also imposed a fine of Rs. 60,000 each on the accused-Piyush Chaturvedi, the then Senior Branch Manager of Bank of India, Misrod Branch, Bhopal, and Mohan Singh Solanki, a private individual.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had registered the case in 2016 based on a written complaint filed by the then Deputy Zonal Manager, Bank of India, Zonal Office, Bhopal.
