Shimla, Sept. 17 -- A CBI Court in Shimla today rejected the CBI's Special Investigation Team's (SIT) plea to extend the police remand of Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) Pankaj Kumar by five more days and instead sent him to judicial custody for 10 days, until September 26.
The court also dismissed Kumar's bail application in connection with the high-profile case linked to the mysterious death of Vimal Negi.
Kumar was arrested on September 14 from his native village in Ghumarwin, Bilaspur district. After being produced before the court, he was remanded to judicial custody at Kaithu Jail.
