New Delhi, Oct. 17 -- A two-day conference on 'Extradition of Fugitives- Challenges and Strategies' concluded today with a resolution to strengthen international collaboration in criminal matters and make the extradition process more efficient. Organised by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at Bharat Mandapam on October 16-17, the conference was inaugurated by union Home Minister Amit Shah.
The Home Minister emphasised the need for a concerted effort by all agencies to bring wanted fugitives back to India to face justice. He specifically stressed the importance of establishing a special cell to vet all extradition requests before they are forwarded to foreign authorities.
