New Delhi, Oct. 8 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) today conducted nationwide searches in cases involving "digital arrests."A senior CBI official stated that the agency carried out coordinated, nationwide searches at approximately 40 locations across Delhi NCR, Haryana, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Kerala, and West Bengal. The raids are part of an investigation into a transnational, cyber-enabled "digital arrest" fraud under the ongoing Operation Chakra-V.

The CBI registered a comprehensive First Information Report (FIR) based on complaints received from nine different victims on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal (NCRP) of the Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Centre (I4C), Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).
