Chennai, May 29 -- As part of its ongoing efforts to combat cyber-enabled financial crimes under Operation Chakra V, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) conducted coordinated searches at 19 locations and arrested six key operatives engaged in a sophisticated transnational tech support scam targeting Japanese citizens.

The raids in 19 locations were held across Delhi, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh, which culminated in the dismantling of two illegal call centers on Wednesday.

With the arrest of six operatives, CBI has busted a Transnational Cybercrime Syndicate targeting Japanese Citizens, the Investigating Agency said on Thursday.
