Lucknow, Sept. 3 -- The sleuths of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) have arrested the Branch Manager (Scale-III) and Field Officer (Scale-II) of Uttar Pradesh Gramin Bank, Chandosi Branch, for allegedly accepting a bribe.

The officers were caught red-handed while accepting Rs 10,000 as the first instalment of a Rs 30,000 bribe they had demanded from a woman entrepreneur.

According to official sources, the complainant, who runs a clothing shop in Chandosi with his sister, had applied for a loan of Rs 3 lakh under the Mukhyamantri Yuva Swarozgar Yojana (Chief Minister Youth Self-Employment Scheme) to set up a small apparel manufacturing unit in his sister's name.
