New Delhi, Oct. 15 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) said today that it has arrested an executive director and regional officer of the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL) from its Guwahati office. The official was apprehended for allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 10 lakh.

The CBI also arrested an individual, Binod Kumar Jain, in connection with the case.

Based on information, the CBI had registered a case against Maisnam Riten Kumar Singh, the executive director, and two representatives of a private company.

In a trap laid yesterday, the accused official was caught red-handed accepting the bribe from the private person. The bribe was meant for issuing a favourable Extension of Time (EOT)...
