New Delhi, Nov. 17 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday announced the arrest of a Social Security Officer from the Office of the Regional Director, Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) in Jammu.

The officer was apprehended for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 9,000 from a complainant.

The accused has been identified as Satyender Kumar.

The CBI registered the case based on a complaint stating that the complainant's wife owned a private firm that had been defunct and had conducted no business since its inception.
