New Delhi, Nov. 11 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Monday arrested a Delhi Police Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) for allegedly taking a bribe of Rs 2.4 lakh from a litigant in a property dispute at Karkardooma Court in east Delhi, an official said.
The accused, identified as Patil Kumar, was posted at Police Station Jyoti Nagar, the officer said in a statement.
A case was registered by the CBI on Sunday after the property owner filed a formal complaint against the policeman.
Initially, the ASI allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs 15 lakh from the complainant to submit a favourable verification report in court concerning his property in Meet Nagar.
