Meerut, Aug. 13 -- In a major anti-corruption operation, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested Dr. Ajay Kumar, Additional Director of the Central Government Health Scheme (CGHS), and Office Superintendent Lavesh Solanki, while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 5 lakh.

The arrest took place following a raid at the CGHS dispensary near Surajkund Hans Chauraha in Meerut around 4 PM, yesterday. The operation, which lasted nearly 12 hours, continued until 4 AM today.

The CBI team, consisting of 8 to 10 officers from its Ghaziabad unit, detained the officials and later took them to different locations for further investigation. They returned to the dispensary by 11 AM today.
