New Delhi, Nov. 21 -- The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) arrested two Delhi Police officials today for allegedly accepting bribes of Rs. 30,000 and Rs. 50,000.
The accused have been identified as Nitin Meena, a Sub-Inspector posted at Krishna Nagar police station, and Buddha Pal, an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) posted at Harsh Vihar police station.
The CBI registered a case against Sub-Inspector Meena on November 19. He was accused of demanding Rs. 40,000 from a complainant in exchange for filing a favorable chargesheet to help secure the bail of the complainant's brother. After negotiation, the amount was settled at Rs. 30,000. The CBI laid a trap and caught the officer red-handed while he was accepting the bribe.
