Srinagar, Nov. 15 -- Multiple casualties are feared after a massive late-night explosion inside the Nowgam Police Station in Srinagar today, sparking panic across the area, official sources said.
The police station is the same facility that had last month registered a case over Jaish-e-Mohammad posters, an investigation that later led to the busting of a major inter-state terror module.
Initial inputs suggest the explosion occurred when ammunition seized from terrorists went off accidentally during an inspection. Multiple fire engines rushed to the spot moments after the blast.
Visuals accessed from the scene showed extensive damage to the structure, with debris scattered across the premises.
