Bengaluru, April 16 -- Union Minister and former Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Wednesday invoked the teachings of philosopher-saints Basavanna and Kanakadasa to accuse the Congress government of betraying their message of social unity by using the caste survey report as a tool to divide society for political gain.
"Mr Chief Minister, is this what it has come to? Kanakadasa's message was one of unity and depth. But the intent behind your sponsored survey report raises serious questions. There is a big gap between what you say and what you actually do," Kumaraswamy said in a statement.
